Discipline Plan

The first grade uses a color-coded discipline system. This system encourages students to be cooperative citizens within their classroom community and reminds them to make good choices in their behavior. The colors are as follows:

pink = perfect
purple = great job
blue = good effort
green = ready to learn
yellow = think about it
orange = teacher's choice of consequence
red = phone call, note home, or other type of communication, such as email, Class Dojo message)

Children start out each day on green. Their behavior choices allow them the ability to move up and down the color chart. If your child comes home on green, ask questions! That usually means they have done nothing in class; no participation and little effort. If they are on yellow or orange, please talk to them about how to make better choices in their behavior. Pink -  praise them for their success! If a child gets to yellow or orange three times, or red once, a parent conference will become necessary to work out a behavior plan to encourage improvement.
