All About Me

I joined the Shenandoah educational family in December 1998.

My educational background is a Bachelor of Arts in Interdisciplinary Studies from California State Dominguez Hills and a Master in Library and Information Science from San Jose State University. I completed my teaching education through the LAUSD District Intern Program.

I spent several years as a Police Dispatcher and as a Customer Service Representative for DWP, always being utilized as a trainer for new employees. The switch from training adults to teaching children was one of the best decisions I’ve ever made.

I’ve spent the majority of my teaching years in primary grades, but have taught up to fourth and fifth grade during summer sessions. I enjoy introducing children to stories or authors they’ve never heard of and sparking their interest in reading. As a lifelong reader myself, it is one of my favorite things.

If there is anything else you'd like to know about me, don't hesitate to ask!
